Istanbul, July 2025 – In a major twist this summer, Milan Škriniar has officially completed a permanent transfer to Turkish side Fenerbahçe after a standout loan spell that began in January. The move marks the end of his time at Paris Saint‑Germain and opens a new chapter in his career.
From PSG to Turkey
Škriniar was initially signed by PSG in July 2023 on a five‑year contract reportedly running until June 2028, after a successful spell at Inter Milan. At PSG, he struggled for regular minutes—making just five Ligue 1 appearances in the 2024–25 season—and was cited as not part of coach Luis Enrique’s preferred defensive pairing alongside Marquinhos and Willian Pacho.
Loan to Fenerbahçe
On 30 January 2025, the Slovak defender moved to Fenerbahçe on a loan deal lasting until the end of the 2024–25 season. Under the guidance of José Mourinho, Škriniar quickly became a mainstay in the defense, making 16 Süper Lig appearances and contributing 3 goals.
Permanent deal sealed
By 1 July 2025, Fenerbahçe were reportedly “confident of completing” Škriniar’s permanent signing after successful loan performances. Sources indicate negotiations are ongoing to finalize the transfer before preseason begins.
