In a major move shaping the summer transfer window, Álvaro Morata will be making his return to Italy by signing with Como, a club in Serie A now under the guidance of his former Chelsea teammate Cesc Fàbregas.

The Road to Como

After a frustrating loan spell at Galatasaray, Morata’s path to Como finally cleared. AC Milan paid approximately €5 million to Galatasaray to terminate his loan early, while Morata himself relinquished around €650,000 in owed wages to facilitate the move.

Transfer Fee and Contract Details

Como secured Morata on loan with a conditional purchase option: the total deal costs €10 million, comprised of €1 million for the loan and €9 million obligatory for the eventual permanent transfer. Morata has committed to a three-year contract, extending his stay until June 2029.

A New Era in Como

Morata arrives as the centerpiece of Como’s ambitious project under Fàbregas. In his own words:

“I am very happy to have arrived at Como. Last year, playing against them, I could appreciate the team and the project; it’s clear they have a lot of ambition. I promise the fans and the club that I will give 100% in every training and every match. I can’t wait to wear this shirt!”

Fàbregas also shared his enthusiasm:

“I’ve known Álvaro for many years and have always admired his style of play and presence. He’s an intelligent striker who delivers in important moments and uplifts everyone around him. We’re very happy to have him at Como.”
